Hello everyone, and welcome to our new players! This is our second Route 666 OOC Intro and Mingle post! We're also using this as our April Plotting Post!


APRIL EVENT

ACROSS THE THORN SCRUB

Hello Drifters and welcome to April’s plotting post! We’re taking a break from TDM and Apps this month to focus on a story event and unique location: the thorn brush wastelands, and the strange Tower that stretches towards the sky and takes up the scenery.

First off, we have unique properties from the Tower. As long as it is visible (and it will be visible all month) any wounds a Drifter takes will trigger transformations and trait activation! Drifters can either select from their own pre-selected traits, or they can choose from two event monsters with Chimera and Unicorn! Notably, Chimera monsters will have be able to incorporate these new changes, while Unicorns will be able to heal wounds and staunch any transformations.

The terrain is also going to be causing plenty of bleeding hazards, in the form of thorns, razor brush, and plenty of angry (and twisted) wildlife. Early in the month, there will also be an attack on the Convoy, in the form of cyborg hunters and raiders who are determined to cause death and damages... But who will also be carrying a smorgasbord of electronics, guns, and bullets to loot.

We’ll also be dealing with Moon Warps changing the scenery and making it chaotic, and eventually bringing the Tower down at the end of the month!

EVENT FAQ

For any questions relating to the month's event! To get a few questions out of the way real quick:

How hard is it to get water in the wasteland?
Not exceptionally hard; there are scattered oasis all throughout the wastelands, with a few odd quirks. The waters have regenerative properties, particularly when one submerges in them with another Drifter.

This happens over the entire month?
Yes, this is a month long event. We are experimenting a little with timeline dates on this one; the raider's attack happens a week into the event. The freaky Tower draws close on the 15th, and the big crazy Moon Warp happens on the 20th.

Please don't feel that you need to strictly adhere to the timeline with when you post your logs and threads, it exists just to provide a quick time frame/reference point.

Can my character try to talk to the Raiders?
Sure! Though the raiders themselves aren't very talkative; it appears that their machine parts have overridden a lot of their thoughts, and they tend to repeat whatever orders they've been given. These amount to slaying monsters and the corrupted; which most Drifters qualify as!

What all can I salvage from the Raiders?
Vehicle parts (which we ask to be gained via Reward points if they impart a Quality!) metal of various alloys, and basically tech that is at the same level or compatibility as a laptop. Those who searched for machine parts last month and found very little likely have shrewd notion this is where a lot of it ended up. The Raiders also carry basic monster hunter weapons, including knives/blades and guns. Many of those guns are damaged during the attack, but it is possible to salvage bullets!

What sort of runes/glyphs/etc can my character find here?
The scattered oasis contain various statues. Each one carries one rune/glyph that coincides with the monster and its aspect. A character and player has helpfully compiled the information ICly over here!

In addition, that Weird Tower has various marks carved into the base. The symbols for Order and Change are repeated frequently. It seems that someone was trying to use these symbols to amplify or harness something contained in the tower.

And perhaps more unnervingly, someone has scratched text into the Tower's surface, and the following is barely legible:

Did... Did you just steal the Pristine Tower from Dark Sun and drop it into the game?
We prefer to think of it as borrowing and modifying, but yes. That was a huge influence in this event, and best to give credit where it is due.

Two questions.

First: Do the raiders have any old-school weapons? Swords, axes, bows/crossbows, stuff like that? Or are they too cutting-edge for that sort of thing?

Second: Do- and you know I have to ask- any of the raiders smoke, and if so, are they also horrible flavored cigarettes? Or is her hilarious suffering finally at an end?

Ruby Rose | RWBY

Monster Changes: This month I was to play around with some monster transformation stuff with Ruby. She'll likely be growing some dragon horns, and claws to stick this time around. Horns will probably get caught up on her hood.

Cyborgs and Raiders She'll likely make an attempt to communicate with them- But will be more than happy to fight it out once it becomes clear that this isn't an option.

Looting the cyborgs and raiders: Ruby is a bit more engineer than straight up tech person. So she'd be able to help install or fix up any vehicles with the parts that were taken from the raiders.

She might also nab some weapons to try and make into monstrosity combination weapons which are more common where she is from.

Character Info: A refugee from a colonizing Empire, V is a Synth - which makes them somewhat of an AI, but not entirely of a 'thinks like computer' variety. They can alter their own limb structure without monster transformations getting involved - which, given they're a Weretiger here, has gotten a little overshadowed. They're a Scrapper build in their home game, meaning they are good at reverse-engineering tech, and will be both disappointed and relieved upon encountering all those raiders...
Monster Plans: Good thing I already planned on giving V a Chimera trait this round; I can give them more! And possibly some Unicorn healing, they're going to need it.
Event Plans: Want to see a cat drive a car? This might be the month that happens!! Beyond that, V trying to interrogate a raider (and failing), trying to balance 'investigate the Tower' with 'do NOT let the Tower influence them' (and ALSO failing), and just trying to keep up with everyone else rushing into danger (hopefully successfully, they ARE fast.)
Extra: V is upgrading their car to TOUGH as well as fast/handwaving that it happened at the garage last month. Also, they have a companion drone named M-Bot, who I would love more characters getting to meet! He is a sweet boy/surveying drone, and has a habit of curiosity taking him places that stress out his partner.

Character Name: The Lone Wanderer (Given name: Angel)
Canon: Fallout 3
Character Info: The main player character of Fallout 3. She is a good karma smartass. Meaning she loves to help people, but you have to deal with her mouth. She has a lot of scars, all over her body. The most noticeable ones being claw marks on her right wrist, a jagged knife mark under her right breast, and 3 huge claw marks on her back. They go from her right shoulder to left hip and are thinner at the ends and wide in the middle.
Monster Plans: Angel is a Werewolf! She is going to get both a hybrid and full wolf form, enhanced senses and appetite, faster healing and pack mentality depending on people.
Event Plans: She is so going after raiders and will be scrounging up any and all ammo that she can get. She has a 10mm pistol and a sniper rifle.
Extra: Give me all the CR. She'll gladly ramble about the Vaults and how she's managed to survive for so long.

Her car is a modified Ford F5 that was once a firetruck. She'll probably begin to work on modifying it to store supplies. It's gunna be tough.

Mostly because I want everything to seem """normal""" for him until stuff starts growing out of his head. Baby steps.

Character Info: Kaidan Alenko is a genetic freak and he's not normal!

Monster Plans: Lightning Genasi. He had a pretty traumatic experience in childhood with his biotics, so it's going to be such fun finding out now the electricity part has gone haywire, turning him into a lightning elemental. Maybe one of his legs will turn fully elemental? The same leg he killed his teacher with. Don't get in the water with this guy, he might just fry you.

Event Plans: Kaidan wants to focus on the essentials for now—so water, food and clothing. He's appalled at the culinary state of this place (seriously, nothing but pancakes?) and because he requires twice as many Calories as your average person to survive, it'll be an important consideration going forward. Ideally he wants to set up a communal kitchen, people hunting and scavenging for food, then him and others helping to cook it. On the lookout for a massive cauldron to cook in. He also arrived without civilian clothes and the armor does wear on him after a while, so needs to hunt for pants that'll actually fit his thick ass thighs.

Character Info: A somewhat brainwashed but well-intentioned soldier from the post-apocalyptic ruins of Boston, dealing with the recent revelation that he's the same kind of android (or "synth") that his cultlike paramilitary organization has sworn to eradicate. He's three weeks out from losing basically everything he's ever known or cared about, including his own humanity, so why not crank that up a notch?

Monster Plans: He's going to be a werewolf! My ideas have more to do with the pack mentality aspect--he's going to be thinking of other people from his own world as pack whether he wants to or not, as well as people from others that he develops particular friendships with, and I'd like that to extend eventually to the trait that allows him to share thoughts/feelings with them. Still deciding on the physical!

Event Plans: None yet, except that he hates raiders and loves a good fight and will want to make himself so useful on the combat front, so I'd love for him to fall in with people who are thinking along the same lines! Or with people who aren't so much for fighting, so that he can be awkwardly protective, as he does.

Canon: Crisis Core? The end of Ever Crisis? One kind of leads directly into the next..
Character Info: I don't think there's anyone on the internet who doesn't know who Sephiroth is. I'm taking him from very early CC/very late EC, where he has friends and a reasonably solid grip on his life trajectory and isn't about to explode into a fireball of insanity any time soon. Who knew that if you strip off the crazy and bury the mommy issues, he's a reclusive and awkward nerd who knows more about murder than he does about how to socialize? It also means at this point in his life he's loyal to a fault, and still tries to minimize casualties and harm done in his vicinity. He only really knows military and lab life, though his absent best friends have forced some manner of normalcy onto him over the years.
Monster Plans: Sephiroth is a chimera! I admit I had no overwhelming plans going on besides "I want to be a dinosaur", because lol dinosaurs were wiped out with a meteor and here this guy is in a few years trying to wipe everyone out with a-- .. I'm not as funny as I think I am. Currently working on figuring out the proper combination of animals to get me to that point, since I'm pretty sure I can't go "Well, one of his base animals is an actual theropod" and skip it over. Taking suggestions; they don't have to be exact. He is a chimera after all, there'll be identifiable other animals in the mix no matter what.
Event Plans: Since he's going to have New Planet Whiplash, mostly planning to spend some time settling in, learning convoy layout, and the people he's currently traveling with a little better. He has exactly one thing he's really good at, and this event's going to need a lot of it, so there will be a fair amount of fighting and violence I imagine. Welcoming any and all CR! Especially fellow people with limited experience in normal life in favor of heavy military influence, give him a lil taste of home.
Extra: I gave him a Shinra troop transport truck as a vehicle and gave it the Fast trait. It's going to be learning curve finding out it's not as tough as he's used to them being. I should not have written this so long after bedtime, I'm sure I'll have regrets in the morning.

Character Info: Former teen detective with heaps of trauma. Lost his mom at a young age, suffered through the foster system while dealing with being an illegitimate child in a country that discriminates against them. All that angst led to a malevolent god granting him powers he barely understood, tried pursuing a really reckless and stupid revenge plan at age 15, and got molded into a child assassin by his shitty dad.

Anyway, long story short, he's made poor life choices, but managed to change his ways by making one genuine connection. He's very bitter, jaded, and is hardly proud of his crimes, but here he's more focused on uncovering answers about their circumstances and recently did a network post with his findings!
Monster Plans: Chimera! I might have Akechi activate more of his traits this month, maybe getting changed ears, horns, and a tail. He's already got BEEG CROW wings, feathers from his head all the way down his torso, crow-like talons, and sharp teeth.
Event Plans: Akechi will be scouring for clues to further his notes and findings. When the attack occurs, he will be fighting to either interrogate the hunters or outright kill once it becomes clear that their robotic minds have made them near unreasonable.

Survival comes first, and their supplies are much too useful to pass up. Plus, he's killed far more innocent people before, so.

He'll definitely want to explore the tower and the surrounding area. He needs lore... He's basically going into detective overdrive.

Serph | Digital Devil Saga

Character Info: Imagine getting a mark on your body and getting turned into a monster. Imagine that happening before arriving in Revan.

Serph is a military AI that was recently infected with a demon virus that turns him into a ravenous, cannibalistic monster he can freely transform into at will. That virus also came with the seed of humanity, which gave him emotions and knowledge of things he never personally experienced.

This all makes a character who 1) has very little knowledge and understanding of basic human things 2) is very knowledgeable in the experience of turning into a monster and all the feelings that come with it 3) extremely okay with extreme violence.

As suggested by the above, any sort of interaction with Serph comes with a big honking content warning for cannibalism. It's not a recreational or hobby thing, it's a core Feature that he cannot escape (as it's necessary for his survival) and therefore cannot be avoided when interacting with him long term. I will usually use non-graphic language to describe the cannibalism (often phrased as "hunger" or "devouring") in tags and only go into detail if you're open to it. However, you can also opt-out here.

Monster Plans: Serph is a Celestial (Seraph) and will be getting the rest of his physical changes in the event. He looks like this!

Event Plans: Serph will definitely be helping to deal with the raider attack. He's come from an incredibly violent world, so he has no hesitation in killing humanoid characters, cyborg or not. If you need someone to fight alongside or someone to rescue you from danger, he can do it.

As always, he's experienced in what it's like to turn into a monster and can help people through it. And for those monsters who are hungry for non-standard things, he has a lot of experience with eating other monsters...

Serph will be unavailable during the moon warp this time.

Extra: I'm planning on having Serph get the Swarm monster's Dream-weaver trait, which is the ability to link with other members of the hive (i.e. friends and such) to share memories, experiences, dreams and/or nightmares. If you have a character who keeps stuff bottled inside and need some kind of way to have that Seen by another, this is the perfect tool to do that in the future.

Because of certain similarities in familiar lifestyles... Minus cannibalism, sephiroth doesn't eat people, I am very interested in encountering Serph. I'm canon familiar tho it has been years.

Downside they're both pretty quiet so how much info exchange happens is questionable..

Character Info: Imagine if your seatbelt had a gun and also a human brain that could get depressed. Congratulations, you've approximately imagined what being a SecUnit is like.

It's a bot-human construct that is growing increasingly frustrated at all of the irrational humans surrounding it and completely ignoring its own non-rational tendencies. It's doing great.
Event Plans: ELECTRONICS COLLECTION. SecUnit is going to absolutely try and collect as many as it can, which may actually translate to it seeking out the raiders before they get into the Convoy's range. Specifically it's going to want to try and get any kind of device with a screen, a gun and bullets, and if it can find a camera drone, all the better. It doesn't know how to fix any of these but it is very good at coding and all the software parts of device management.

It's always going to aggressively volunteer itself to accompany other Drifters on their expeditions! Particularly those involving the Tower, since it thinks going into a source of contamination is a dangerous job and it doesn't have trauma related to this or anything.

Probably going to consider getting it shot to both a. destroy its motorcycle helmet and b. activate some visible bug traits. I've got an opt-out on my journal if anyone wants to avoid insect features in description.
Extra: And it will have strong lectures to give on gun safety - may or may not make a network post about that, but either way if anyone would like a character to get training in using a firearm (or a very condescending construct telling them they're doing it wrong) lmk.

zack is also upsettingly good and always trying to do the right thing, but the dumb excitable puppy version. not that he's in a great mood atm, because he's coming from the end of crisis core and thus believes this to be a super weird afterlife (not to mention he's dealing with a tonnn of other baggage like the last four years of experimental torture)— BUT he's trying to be positive about it, anyway. he also happens to be a genetically modified super soldier, but that's like,, a minor detail, right

Monster Plans: he's rocking the Gargoyle over here, so he'll be starting out with wings, stone hibernation when sleeping (who wants to get jump scared by him falling asleep somewhere weird and turning into a rock), heightened vision (his eyes already glow, but now they'll glow Extra), horns, enhanced climbing ability, and a prehensile tail. i'll probably hold off on any crazy transformation stuff until moon warp time, depending on how it all goes down. maaaybe he'll pick up some chimera traits during the fighting and need someone with unicorn powers to help hold them off?

Event Plans: not sure about specific event plans, yet, but he'll definitely be getting in on the fighting/available for any timely rescues needed, looking desperately for something decent to replace his usual Very Big sword with, and absolutely going for a swim in any oasis he comes across. his vehicle is also a big ole tough mechanical chocobo, which feels like a fun conversation starter.

also hmu if you want to plot stuff with arcade (taediosum) bc i will probably mostly be tagging out to things with him this month!

Leo is a pretty personable guy who loves puns and is presently dealing with a whole lot of guilt he's trying to assuage by doing way too much all the time. One of his brothers is here now so this will only get worse. But he's happy to talk to people and make friends!
Monster Plans: Big changes are coming this month!! Leo already has his corpse-like pallor and is more and more experiencing his craving for life energy over normal food. But this month, we're moving into exposed organs and skeletal appearance.

Every time Leo gets scratched by thorns or hurt in any other way, the cracks in his shell will get worse, until eventually it all shatters for good. After this, his heart, lungs, and all his other squishy bits will be exposed through the back of his shell. He'll love this! (he won't. even a little.)
Event Plans: I do plan to give him unicorn changes this month. He loves unicorns. Other than that I'm open to pretty much anything. Leo's always down to fight but he's also willing to go exploring.

Zero | Mega man X

Character Info: Zero is a sentient robot created by a man who made his anger everyone else's problem. A thing that carried over long after Zero became a hero of the world. Things are a mess, and he's been active for centuries. Generally, he is no-nonsense and straightforward. He has his moments, but he is a calm man who has seen quite a bit.

He'll be a calmer presence here, but he's not entirely human. For one, he doesn't eat and exhibits traits such as faintly glowing eyes without any transformation. He's an experienced hunter and good with tech. He'll be ready to dig into the clues and work on some repairs.
Monster Plans: Kitsune! I'm considering which six traits to start with, but I want to start small and build up. I might start with swift reflexes to boost his already swift speed. A dash might go way too fast at random. It will be fun. He will eventually get the hybrid and full forms. I've got a list and I'll see what to mess with first. Picking Kitsune was about making him reflect and think about some important facts when he's eventually updated to MMX8.
Event Plans: Zero will try to talk to the raiders. Once he determines they are unable to communicate fully and want to cause death and destruction? A maverick hunter does his duty. He'll assist in any efforts to get supplies and see what clues and leads he can find about their situation. I'll be tossing him around to get him settled in and build up cr.
Extra: His monster shifts will be robotic. I couldn't resist him having a maverick style shape.

She was a neglected child who turned into a wild teenager, discovered that she was the Chosen One*, met her Watcher, bonded with her Watcher, saw her Watcher die in front of her at the hands of an ancient vampire, fled to Sunnydale (*Where the other Chosen One lives- it's complicated), was chased by the ancient vampire, helped kill the ancient vampire, befriended the other Slayer, accidentally murdered a man, betrayed the other Slayer, signed on with Mayor Mr Rogers But Evil, tried to kill the other Slayer's emo vampire-with-a-soul boyfriend, got stabbed and fell off a roof, should have died, didn't, woke up from the coma eight months later, stole the other Slayer's body, tried to flee the country, got hung up on that pesky conscience, got stuck in her own body again for her troubles, fled to LA, tried to get the same vampire-with-a-soul to kill her because she couldn't handle the guilt, had a breakdown when he refused, spent a few years in jail, broke out to save said vampire after he lost his soul, and then went back to Sunnydale to help the other Slayer blow up the ultimate evil. (Did you get all that?)

It's messy. She's trying to do better now. She's even got her own wayward struggling vampire to sponsor!

Monster Plans: Faith is a Dullahan (Undead variant) but right now, her changes have all been extremely subtle. Mostly for the slow, creeping dread points.

Her starting abilities are as follows:

Monster Plans: Zoanthrope (Werecat) | So you know how I said that Qrow's super power is 'cursed with bad luck'? And you know how black cats are another sign of bad luck? Yeah. (Also, it's very funny to turn a bird into a cat.)

Event Plans: Qrow is going to be scavenging the ruins in the hopes of replacing his weapon, which is a sword that turns into a sawed off shotgun that turns into scythe. Monster Plans: Drakonis that's a mix of a lizard and a humming bird! He's gonna be getting wings this month, I think.

Event Plans: Shadow is going to kick some raiders in the face and then rob them. He may also try to investigate the tower! And depending on how things go, he may try to investigate it by abusing his powers to drive his motorcycle straight up the side of it, if anyone would care to join him.

While his brothers are all hard-shelled turtles, Donnie is actually a soft-shell and usually chooses to supplement this weakness by wearing battle shells of his design. He prides himself on being able to fix any mechanical or technical problem you put in front of him. His specialty is with a staff but he's also got mystic powers at his disposal, his implementation of it allowing him to conjure up anything technical that he can imagine, resulting in hardlight-like constructs of machinery or weaponry that functions just as one would expect of the actual thing. The only people he's really used to being around is his family so being apart from them is very strange and uncomfortable but he has no problems with being around people. Unfortunately he's just a bit bad at getting a proper read on people's motives.

Monster Plans: This boy's going to be heading towards volare/harpy town. I imagine he will not be very happy about it considering the fuss he put up about being stuck as part snake for the TDM. Then again, he does love flying...
Event Plans: Gonna just jump into things and see how they go! Donnie doesn't want to freak Leo out any more than he already did but at this rate I doubt that will be avoidable. But HEY look, tech stuff! That's a good distraction! And cyborgs....uuuh...yyyyay? Good thing Akechi warned him about this stuff.

As a result, even though he does like being a dragon, he'll probably try to stay shifted out of it.
Event Plans: I don't know that I'll have too much happen to him in this event in particular while he's just getting started, other than activating some of his basic monster traits. I might have him get a gun from the cyborg raiders, since a kobold wizard with a gun is very funny to me.

Event Plans: No big plans yet, she's still kind of freaking out about all this and trying not to be upset that she's not going to see her family again ever for a long time. I definitely need to get her to start learning self-defense. Right now the best she can do is kick someone in the shins and/or punch them in the nose, at which point she might break her thumb cuz she doesn't know how to punch. She's fourteen, dammit, and homeschooled!

Character Info: A very friendly and helpful werewolf who is slowly turning into a kistune. He's still very friendly and helpful, though. He also has a little shop where he repairs your clothing, or makes you more if your monster transformation really ruined yours. (He's still learning how to make clothes. Please do not judge the multiple tries he might need in order to get it right.)
Monster Plans: Just more spooky, fluffy fox traits. I haven't worked out what he's getting this month, but it'll be more along those lines. I'm not aiming to make his transformation really horrifying and awful, just... fluffy. He is meant to be cute and a little ethereal.
Event Plans: He is absolutely looting the corpses of those raiders for clothes, supplies, and information, and eying that tower warily. He is going werewolf again at the moon warp, so people will get the chance to fight him or be chased by him because his protectors are going to do a Dumb and leave him alone. Also there are Plans for Things to happen with his two roomies, so... we shall see where that goes. I am open to lots of things, hit me up!

I don't have a lot of specific ideas, but I think this new guy here could have some interesting talks with both of yours!

With Jolie, Danse is kind of tailor-made to set off authority issues like a stern robot Javert, but he's exactly the sort of guy who would see a 14-year-old on her own here and think "someone needs to teach that kid how to use a gun," and then attempt to be that someone. He is not exactly an AI, but he's a synthetic being whose brain can be restored to factory settings with a code phrase, so he's not exactly not one either.

With Jack, he's also going to be a werewolf, and has even less idea than most about what that entails or what he'll be getting into, because he isn't even familiar with fictional werewolf lore. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable is exactly the kind of thing he'd need most in this situation, but clothes that fit his unusually burly self are like the thing he needs second-most and he doesn't care that much what they look like.

After being unable to prevent the woman he loved from Bad Life Decisions and getting shot by a crazy scientist for his trouble, Vincent was subjected to experiments and then locked away, which he chose to see as penance for his sins. Around thirty years later, Cloud Strife and others were pursuing Sephiroth. Vincent decided to join them to get revenge on the crazy scientist and later came to care about the cause and realize he couldn't keep himself wrapped up in the past.

I'm drawing him from shortly after the end of the original game, loosely after the party disbands (as mentioned in the novel between the OG game and Advent Children). The world was recovering, 'Midgar Pox' (geostigma) was starting to become prevalent and Vincent was roaming the world, investigating and also beginning to experience haunting fragments of memories which brought new mysteries about his past.

Because he's still dealing with a lot of issues he got closure for in Dirge of Cerberus, he's going to be pretty stand-offish when it comes to making direct friendships but he can be eroded slowly. That being said he is not the type to be blind to the fact that the best option is to stay with the Convoy; even if one of the people he considers a friend aren't present. He will also pitch in where it counts. As a final note, as a player I'm always down to talk about ideas on how to spark engagement when it comes down to guys like Vincent. So feel free to hmu.

Monster Plans: Vincent is (now) a vampire (as well). The one thing he is nearly all BUT and of course it's the thing he gets saddled with. Was the top pick because of the thematic appropriateness... but also because it will serve as a dramatic and terrible attempt at eroding of the last remaining bits of what he perceives as his humanity. His sigil is on the back of his neck. Between the cloak and his hair it'll be hard to see but opportunity will be provided!

He will of course avoid drinking human (ally) blood as much as possible and once he can't resist the urge or gives in to the necessity, he'll sate himself on animals and monsters. Naturally this means at some point he will probably need to prevail on someone's good nature. Just joined but for anyone interested in what his starting traits will be:

• Sharp Teeth and claws. Capable of cutting through bone.
  
• Weakness to sunlight. Strength and powers are greatly diminished.
  
• Urge to drink blood.
  
• Regenerates from drinking blood, can heal from injuries.
  
• Ice magic, can form and shape ice, typically into razor and cutting shapes.
  
• Mist-form. Can become intangible and capable of phasing through solid surfaces up to five feet thick.
  

Event Plans: Jumping right in! Vincent might have to deal with some chimera form shenannigans. He'll also be working on repeling raiders, collecting useful guns (he won't be greedy but you know. guns) and looking for ammo that'll suit his weapons of choice. Chimera form may or may not manifest as galian beast bits, waiting for a response on a query about that.

Extra: Down for many things. Vincent isn't the sort that'll jump into (or even coaxed slowly into) romance as he's been very much hung up on one woman (and his guilt) for the past thirty years and counting. But he can become a staunch friend and ally, be good at bites of wisdom and insight and somehow end up getting involved in shenannigans. He hasn't yet learned about the true nature of Chaos or the details on what experiments happened to him decades ago, so maybe that will come up at some point. Just like the vibe of exploring growth in settings that might change the entire dynamic of how things went in canon. Also up for fun!

Character Info: Vash the Stampede's twin brother, and a humanoid inter-dimensional being known as a Plant. Plants were created by humanity to be a source of food, water and energy, though most lack free will, sentience or the ability to move freely, instead being kept in containers and harvested by humans. Knives, as an Independent Plant, seeks to liberate them from enslavement and will kill any humans who get in his way, styling himself as 'Millions Knives' to represent his actions as a weapon for his many Plant siblings. The name is also literal, albeit nerfed to not be too OP here.

His true goal is to create a world for himself and Vash where they don't have to live in fear of humans, and he'll achieve this at any cost. This puts him in direct opposition to humanity-loving Vash, though he's less interested in what his brother wants and what Knives thinks is best for him -- his little brother is just delusional and needs to be corrected :) Maybe through over a century of trauma and violence by turning humanity against him :) He'll come around eventually???

The 'cool story, still murder' explanation is that he's a violent, arrogant asshole who masks his own fears by trying to play act as a vengeful god. He'll have an automatically negative perception of human CR, but he'll cooperate for now out of interest in learning where the Convoy is headed.

Monster Plans: Celestial / Angel. He's Big Angry about this at first because while he's used to transforming, he doesn't want to become more monster and less Plant-like. He'll get his wings first, but other starting traits I'm thinking he'll gradually acquire are: commanding voice (he's already bullied people to fix his car, now he can do it Even More), aether magic, messenger compulsion, extra eyes, and glowing hair.

Event Plans: He'll gladly carve up any raiders, and will be interested in investigating the tower. Will likely also play around with chimera transformation stuff as more of an excuse for him to wig out about becoming a monster; once it wears off he'll have an extra eye on the back of both his hands, which for Canon Reasons seem to move and blink independently of whatever Knives himself is looking at. Don't worry about it!

Character Info: Apollo is a loud, hot-headed, sarcastic defense attorney who is nonetheless one of the most down-to-earth characters in what is a very silly series. He's from a place that's like modern-day Earth but slightly in the future, with a strange legal system (a parody of the Japanese one buuuut it takes place in America in the English translation) and a few made-up countries thrown in for fun.

The one teensy little thing that makes him less of a normal guy is the fact that he can sense lies as long as he's looking at someone. The tl;dr is that it works based on the premise that liars always have a nervous tic, even a very subtle one. I'm treating this in a way that I call an active opt-in - basically, you need to say in a thread that your character is lying to Apollo or else he won't pick up on it. I have more info on a permissions post here or you can comment there for blanket opt-ins or -outs.

Monster Plans: Apollo is a Dragon variety of Drakonis. So far his only monster change has been red scales that are visible down his arms and around his face/neck, but I'd like to give him another one this month (maybe claws so he actually has some minor combat ability).
Event Plans: Apollo is not going to enjoy facing down cyborgs and raiders, given that they're a lot more human than the other enemies the Convoy has faced so far. That doesn't mean he can't get in trouble, of course - Apollo's still determined to find a way to be helpful to the group, but the one thing he won't do is loot dead people. Gross. I'm still willing to make him a damsel in distress for anyone who's interested, but Apollo is trying to be more careful this time so there'll hopefully be a few less blunders.

He's going to be hiding behind the convoy's shields during the Moon Warp again, but now that he knows the effects, Apollo will charge out from behind them if someone is seriously in trouble. Otherwise he can be playing support behind the shields for anyone who's injured or otherwise needs help.

Character Name: Imhotep
Canon: Im: Great Priest Imhotep
Character Info: Yes, he's the historical figure, but from a very anime-flavored AU of actual history. Imhotep was a high priest of Thoth who failed to prevent his best friend Djoser from becoming a sacrifice, and in the process released monsters called 'magai' into the world. Cue the gods sealing him away for 3000 years, until Imhotep is awakened in the modern day by an organization of Egyptian priests to hunt down the magai that he's responsible for releasing. He's taken from the end of the manga, after a lot of sacrifices were made to save the world, but before everyone gets their happy endings.

Imhotep tends to come off as stoic and oddly competent for his age, and often gets a big head about it, but he does have a silly side (including a love for comedy TV shows). Im is actually the human personality of the god Thoth, but Thoth is still a separate being from him and this divine origin doesn't really have bearing on Imhotep's mortal life, other than giving him a lot of magical power. Im's a spellcaster who's coming in with a healing spell and a magic item that'll let him store monster sigil effects for later use.

Monster Plans: Harpy flavor of Volare! He's too new to have any monster changes going on just yet.
Event Plans: Imhotep isn't going to be daunted much by the landscape, and will assist in scavenging or fending off raiders - he's ended up more like a support mage thanks to the abilities he's coming in with, and he'll gladly help back up other characters, particularly with that healing spell. Imhotep's vehicle is a wooden boat on wheels that has holes in the hull, so he is particularly interested in finding wood (or metal sheets??) to make some quick and dirty repairs... assuming there'll be much in the wasteland that's useful for that.

I might also give Im some unicorn traits just for fun, and I'm thinking he'll be involved in the Moon Warp in some capacity, if not fighting then perhaps dragging the injured back to safety.
