Hello everyone, and welcome to our new players! This is our second Route 666 OOC Intro and Mingle post! We're also using this as our April Plotting Post!


APRIL EVENT

ACROSS THE THORN SCRUB

Hello Drifters and welcome to April’s plotting post! We’re taking a break from TDM and Apps this month to focus on a story event and unique location: the thorn brush wastelands, and the strange Tower that stretches towards the sky and takes up the scenery.

First off, we have unique properties from the Tower. As long as it is visible (and it will be visible all month) any wounds a Drifter takes will trigger transformations and trait activation! Drifters can either select from their own pre-selected traits, or they can choose from two event monsters with Chimera and Unicorn! Notably, Chimera monsters will have be able to incorporate these new changes, while Unicorns will be able to heal wounds and staunch any transformations.

The terrain is also going to be causing plenty of bleeding hazards, in the form of thorns, razor brush, and plenty of angry (and twisted) wildlife. Early in the month, there will also be an attack on the Convoy, in the form of cyborg hunters and raiders who are determined to cause death and damages... But who will also be carrying a smorgasbord of electronics, guns, and bullets to loot.

We’ll also be dealing with Moon Warps changing the scenery and making it chaotic, and eventually bringing the Tower down at the end of the month!

Monster Plans: Levi's got most of his monster traits activated already, so I'll have to play around with event monsters. Not sure how, though. He had wings last month and kinda liked them so i could give him wings then cruelly take them away again. he may or may not get actual wings somewhere down the line. Though unicorn could also be fun. I'll probably play it by ear
Event Plans: Levi's going to be helping defend the convoy, probably mostly with guns but maybe changing to doggy or bone doggy (hybrid) form. He will have no shame in looting bodies for ammo if he's not under fire and will have no problem going to loot for other stuff once things have calmed down. The cyborgs will freak him out greatly though as he doesn't even know what a robot is. So that might be a good time for him to learn the robots are not just normal people who might look weird.
He'll have almost no interest in the tower but he will be assigning himself as security detail for anyone who wants to go explore it. Even if you can fight, because its a total unknown and you can't be too careful.
Also I've been thinking of giving his bike the "fast" quality so I might have him loot something from the raiders for that. He'll need help installing whatever it is, though.

Character Info: I'll come up with something shorter next time.

He's that one big evil from Ancient Egyptian Mythology. His epithets are Serpent of Darkness, God of Chaos and Discord, Pharaoh of the Magai (false gods),... and so on. In truth he used to be a guardian deity created by the original creator gods, who made Lovecraft's Ancient Ones look cuddly, to fend off even worse. He was repurposed as the original sun god, and then later used for spare parts for the current sun god after it turned out that he was too entrenched with primordial darkness to fit the personification of light specs. A little later humans decided that he has no right to exist anymore because 'god of darkness' = automatically evil, and the rest of the gods just went along with the blame game. His story is pretty much the god version of Give A Dog a Bad Name, except Apophis literally cannot die and stay dead for as long as he's part of one of the fundamental dualities that make up the world. So now he's everybody else's problem because his new goal is to destroy the world for both revenge and so that he can finally kill himself.

He usually pretends to be prince Djoser, the main character's best friend who fell into corruption after he was sacrificed alive in order to help hush up the wrongdoings of the priesthood and their gods. Tl;Dr Imhotep effed up saving Djoser so badly that it gave Apophis a chance to merge his and Djoser's souls and use his body for his own -- so he's basically an evil god hijacking a zombie while also rping as a swell guy for additional emotional damage. All that and he's actually STILL the easily most decent Egyptian god you could encounter as a human.

Personality-wise Apophis tends come off as your typical hero-slash-BFF guy. He's empathic, has a good sense for what's right and wrong and loves chaos just enough to be unable to bail you out of jail because he's sitting in the cell right next to you. He will happily pretend to be your character's friend and support them, but he also loves to fan the flames of a person's inner darkness and toy with their desires and dreams, so handle with care.

Monster Plans: He's a Serpens of the Naga kind! Mostly because 1) there's canon art that can be used for icons and 2) him thinking that it's just his powers corrupting his stolen body will keep him somewhat stable and off the worst murder-sprees.
Event Plans:

• Apophis will be (maybe a little) too eager to fight and maim any of the convoy's attackers by any means possible, which might include trying to run them over with his new war chariot. His aim won't be too discerning during this, so battle buddies and people to yell at him to learn how to aim or bail him out after he's overestimated himself would be loved!
• He'll get several smaller injuries that will leave several small trails of snake scales on his body.
• He's going to end up with a small unicorn horn that he'll try to tear off for this month'd monster shenanigans.
• Anybody want to joing him on a looting ride or trying to punch a hole into that tower? That thing looks sturdy, so it's gotta make for some good materials!

I'm canonblind, but I think there's some interesting possible parallels with Akechi here. He also was embittered due to stigmas and forces outside his control and also had a ridiculous revenge plan (even if he's no longer pursuing it). He even had a princely facade at one point, even if he's no longer acting as such.

Haha, awesome! Apophis has a bad habit of getting way too friendly with everybody he meets, so this sounds like a glorious mess in the making! I'll apologize for any bro-hugs or nicknames Ruby might end up with in advance!

He'd also be interested in her weapon crafting forays and maybe they could talk tech upgrades/repairs too? He's only got a chariot with easily breakable golem horses and a ship on wheels with a big hole as riding options right now. (Will he ask Imhotep if he wants the ship repaired? Don't sweat the details, let's redecorate the Sunbark into a pirate ship already, he'll definitely love it! ♥)

Character Info: dirty, nasty, needs-another-shower-perpetually depressed man that's fallen off his clean faced golden boy days, fresh out of the world's most dangerous alternate reality hole! jayce is an inventor/scientist who researched magic for most of his life and helped cause the end of the world thanks to inventing a tech + magic fusion. he's trying to not let that happen! generally he's a good guy! he's always wanted to do the right thing but he's 1) a bit unstable 2) severely traumatized and 3) dead (see below)
Monster: jayce is your resident draugr with the traits of a zombie stag! (cw in the link for exposed organs and blood/cannibalism!) you can also find what traits he currently has going for him on his monster page here! this month pre-storm he's going to get a few more deer features— the cute little nose, ears and tail! maybe a bit of stag behavior too!
Event Plans: loosely basing my plans around having jayce come alive as a unicorn for the storm!! he'll be going back to undead status towards the end of the month after waver turns him into roadkill. the hunter raid is something i'd like him to actively fight back in especially for parts for viktor's heart as much as the convoy's general safety! mmmmmight be a good time to go into food frenzy/cold caller? although i'm not sure yet. leaning on it though! not quite! vash is a species called a Plant, which is closer in usage to like, power plant than like. leafy plants. but their aesthetics and vibes are very plant-themed, and they also generate essential products for human survival in the desert wasteland that trigun takes place in. more info about them in his app over here!

most plants look like this, but as an Independent Plant, vash looks like an ordinary human, most of the time!

if you shine a light in his eyes or his markings flare up though, you see patterns like these.

so he will be trying to pass as an Ordinary Human Nothing To See Here at first but also his twin brother nai/knives is around so that will probably blow up in his face very quickly lmao

Character Info: Local man dropped out of magic college to run and fight in a magical Battle Royale in Japan with the help of a summoned hero from Mythohistory and has his entire world and life trajectory upended by the unconquerable spirit of Alexander the Great Himself. He's spent the last decade trying to make good on his promise to live and tell the tale, while trying to make himself a better person and clean up the mess he inadvertently helped create along the way.

It's given him depression -- but he is nothing if not stubborn!

Monster Plans: My overall plan with Waver is to be a Centaur.... But this gives me stuff to work with in the current event.

Event Plans: Unicorn!

Oocly Life knocked me out of the caravan last month, so I'm rolling with Waver being Depressed and Insomniac because he's in a world far from the one he knows.... And he misses his students and the weird family he's acquired along the way.

He needs help finding a proper sleeping arrangement, he's going to be poking into research opportunities, and he's going to run someone over.

She's also not really got any useful skills for travelling because been stuck on a private island for 30 years so she'll need some help.
Monster Plans: Natsuhi is going to be a Kitsune. The traits I have in mind for her to start with are
-Fox ears and sharp teeth/claws, they're going to slowly grow
-4 fox tails ^, also going to slowly grow
- She's already got red tips to her hair, but the brown sections are going to turn white
-Fox form! I kinda just want to have her turn into a cute fuzzy animal and be stuck lol
-Illusion magic and accidents from that
Event Plans: PLZ DEFEND!
So Natsuhi has no fighting skills and can't drive so uh...help? Please? I might have her accidentally turn into a little fox while trying to run away.

I admittedly don't have a lot of ideas right off the bat, but I think Qrow and Natsuhi should have CR. Stressed out 40-somethings gotta stick together.

He might be able to help her out with both the driving and the defending? He's a professional monster hunter so if nothing else he can teach her some basics.

I feel like Natsuhi and Qrow are opposite ends of 'anime' adults. He can fight and stuff meanwhile she's hilariously normal, has chronic headaches and backache...

Character Info: The Invincible Girl! A star athlete and a born warrior in her homeworld, Pyrrha is a young Huntress-to-be that just wants to be the hero people need. She excels in prowess where she tends to lack in social skills, but she's trying!! She'd love to have friends, and people who care about her, not just her popularity. She's super friendly and a bit goofy and just... she's trying, alright.

she's also coming from the end of Volume 3. So she'll be dealing with certain... issues that arose from her canonpoint. Like death.
Monster Plans: Pyrrha's going to be an Angel Celestial! Traits.... Well, she'll be protective of her friends, and gain some feathers somewhere down the line (she's gonna be a phoenix).
Event Plans: Uhhh, Pyrrha's gonna be settling in mostly, but sure she'll throw down with some cyborg raiders if they get too close to the caravan. She'd like peace, but she absolutely hates bullies.
Extra: She's got a motorcycle that she absolutely does not know how to drive.

Character Info: You know that meme of "looks like a cinnamon roll/could actually kill you" vs "looks like they could kill you/actually a cinnamon roll"? Vash is the fusion of these extremes into "looks like a cinnamon roll, could easily kill you, is a cinnamon roll anyway". He's a fun contradiction of expert gunslinger who is nonetheless an extreme pacifist, with a mountain of survivor guilt for a spaceship crash his brother caused 150 years ago that stranded all the humans on an nigh-unlivable desert planet, so the whole spooky roadtrip situation will be, uh. Very Uncomfortably Familiar in some ways.

Monster Plans: Fae! Starter traits will be:

-Plant speech & magic
-Oath compulsion
-Butterfly wings
-Fae ears
-Shifting form/difficult to remain stable if distressed

Event Plans: Mostly Vash will just be vibing since he just got here but he'll do his best to protect the Convoy, especially any non-combatants or otherwise vulnerable people, and he will ... also try ... most likely fruitlessly ... to get the Raiders to leave peacefully and refuse to kill them. He'll also have some unicorn shift going on, trying to help with healing and undoing changes etc
