OOC Intro/February Plotting Post!
Hello everyone, and welcome to Route 666 and our first OOC Intro and Mingle post! We're going to experiment with also having this double as our February Plotting Post! (Depending on player feedback, we may split this into two separate posts! Or leave it as is!)
To celebrate the first TDM being a success, all accepted players/characters will get one free AC Reward Point from whichever 5 comment thread they chose for their sample! People can also turn in additional 5 comment threads for more points, up to four more threads (with any number of comments in them) for extra rewards. In addition, you may also utilize any TDM prompts/events in the story log! (And likewise, you may do this up to four times!)
This is a one time occurrence and applies only for the January TDM.
INTO THE WOODS
After acquiring vehicles, Drifters will be hitting the road and navigating a dense forest. A road snakes through the trees, and sometimes vehicles can jump offroad and weave between the trees.
Drifters will encounter various hazards and rewards in these woods. These include:
+Haunted Groves that try to lure Drifters in to ensnare them for plant food. These trees can even reverse a transformation on Drifters, but will try to also lull Drifters into a sense of security so they can be ensnared on noose like vines, or get absorbed into the tree trunks.
+Wrecked Cars that hide assorted traps in the form of snares and fear toxin. There are also strange robot dogs called chromehounds stalking the wreckage, and are programmed to attack anyone displaying monster traits.
+Pockets of Magic dotting the road. These stasis pockets try to freeze Drifters, but are dispelled by Sigils with explosive results; sudden bursts of elemental magic tend to burst out as the fields get destroyed. Some of the stasis pockets dot the roads, and need to be burst. Vehicles can also help shield Drifters from the after effects, or quickly get them out of harm’s way.
+Moon Shrines scattered around the forest, with offerings on their altars and prayers written on their surfaces. Many of them contain the Silver Tears records on monsters, from the info pages. More pragmatic Drifters can also take the offered items from the altars… But this causes the candles to ignite, and burn hands and arms, leaving behind either a monster change, or burning a passage of text across the skin that slowly fades out over the month. This will also be our first RNG event with the text. We will have a sign up form below where we'll be distributing some lore via rolls! (Please note we are limiting this to one bit of lore per character, to keep things manageable!)
The exploration of the forest culminates in a strange ruin, a cross between a radio tower and a cabin in the woods. Once there, the Convoy experiences its first Moon Warp. Reality grows fluid, monsters burst to life from Husks in the forests, and Drifters will find their monster forms being called out to.
During the moon warp, Drifters will have two options:
1. Hide in the Convoy behind the shields, and thus avoid the worst of the Moon Warp and transformations. Things might be scary on the outside, but it’s possible to get a measure of peace indoors… Though they’ll need to make company with everyone else hiding inside.
2. Face the Moon Warp and the monsters head on, and thus enjoy a full fledged monster transformation and potentially a berserk state. It’s a brawl outside the Convoy shields, with other Husk monsters, and even chromehounds honing in on the warp and trying to slay all monsters. It’s chaotic, violent, and Drifters will need to burn a lot of energy to survive. By the end of the Warp they’ll be able to return to normal… Or possibly stay in a weakened monstrous state until events in March.
And that is our route planned for the month! We hope you enjoy this event, and feel free to plan in the comments below!
Also, feel free to introduce yourself with this handy box, if you would like!

RP STUFF!
Character Name: Yang Xiao Long
Canon: RWBY
Character Info: RWBY is a series about fighting monsters with improbably over-engineered weapons in a fantasy setting heavily inspired by fairy tales. Yang is the Y of Team RWBY, a team of Huntresses-in-Training at a special monster fighting school, along with her younger half-sister and team leader Ruby Rose, the aristocratic Weiss Schnee, and a moody, introspective Faunus (someone with animal traits) named Blake Belladonna. Yang is a self-admitted thrill-seeker who wanted a life of adventure and uncertainty, and only initially wanted to become a Huntress because that was the job that best aligned with those desires. She also pretty much raised Ruby for a significant portion of their childhoods after their mother (technically Yang's stepmother) Summer Rose disappeared, and their father Taiyang withdrew into himself. This means that while Yang has the appearance of a fun-loving partygirl, she's also emotionally perceptive, used to taking action, and very protective of those she cares about.
She's also only recently come out of a months-long depressive episode after losing her arm, and while Yang's in a better place now, she still has some lingering, unresolved trauma revolving around the one who maimed her, and trying to reach a new equilibrium with Blake, who abandoned the team due to her own issues suddenly flaring up in the worst way imaginable (the guy who maimed Yang was also her toxic ex-boyfriend. It's complicated). They've since reunited and reconciled, but Blake is eager to protect Yang from harm, which Yang can't help but read as Blake thinking her weak and defenceless. They do eventually overcome these issues and in the most recent volume become a couple (a trajectory we intend to take in Route 666, albeit probably not quite as slowburn. XD). Yang's also still trying to deal with the knowledge that magic in her world is real, and that the immortal witch she's joined the secret war against, Salem, is literally unkillable, which has also led to a collapse of trust in her former mentor/Salem's opposite, Ozpin for keeping that knowledge secret.
Yang also has a motorcycle that is her pride and joy back home, so she's an expert mechanic and a fully-licensed pilot. That last part may not be relevant, but I just think it's neat.
Monster Plans: Yang is coming in as a Werewolf which I am so excited about. Her initial changes are a partial animal features that manifest as a pair of wolf ears in addition to her regular human ears on the top of her head, but my plans for the other six freebies are: heightened senses, extra tufts of fur, razor-sharp teeth and claws, voracious appetite, and a hybrid form (you'd better believe she's getting bigger). In addition to more Zoanthrope features, I also plan to dip into elemental so she can become a fire werewolf too, and maybe some Drakonis in there as well to make her a more dragon-y too.
Event Plans:
Yang will definitely be outside the Convoy, which means she's gonna go full wolf-monster, and will almost certainly go berserk. There may need to be a post-event fight just to get her to calm down/knock her out so she can change back, haha. Needless to say, Yang will be as likely to fight other Drifters in this state as she will monsters.
Also, in the lead-up to finding the rest stop, Yang is going to experience her first bout of voracious hunger. She will be scarfing down all the food she can get her hands on, including the tasteless goop in the kitchen car. This will be meant as a prelude to her first monster transformation, and an indication that it's not all funny wolf ears and good times.

anyway whenever Blake is ready to succ Yang off, she'll be there.

anyway Blake should absolutely see Yang go full wolf monster, because that will be a fun time askdjsakl. she can maybe witness the tail end of Faith beating her up to knock her out of wolf form?

Did I hear "fight buddies who might need to beat a werewolf into submission to stop her from rampaging?"
no subject
Against a rampaging berserk werewolf, Faith would really not be able to hold back either and I'm down for that. Please feel free to go as hard as you can to get Yang to stop.
Also, ground rule: do not stake the girlfriend.
no subject
Also, don't worry, she doesn't stake vampires she likes, so Blake's only in danger if Angel shows up and Blake tries to kill him. (She likes Angel more, sorry.)

Also pretty sure that given Akihiko's decision to make pancakes after their wager, doesn't matter who wins, he's still going to do it anyways. But afterwards he'll probably want to ask Yang about gun-gauntlets, fighting techs, wait she also has a robot arm!? and all sorts of similar punch-based activities.
