OOC Intro/February Plotting Post!
Hello everyone, and welcome to Route 666 and our first OOC Intro and Mingle post! We're going to experiment with also having this double as our February Plotting Post! (Depending on player feedback, we may split this into two separate posts! Or leave it as is!)
To celebrate the first TDM being a success, all accepted players/characters will get one free AC Reward Point from whichever 5 comment thread they chose for their sample! People can also turn in additional 5 comment threads for more points, up to four more threads (with any number of comments in them) for extra rewards. In addition, you may also utilize any TDM prompts/events in the story log! (And likewise, you may do this up to four times!)
This is a one time occurrence and applies only for the January TDM.
INTO THE WOODS
After acquiring vehicles, Drifters will be hitting the road and navigating a dense forest. A road snakes through the trees, and sometimes vehicles can jump offroad and weave between the trees.
Drifters will encounter various hazards and rewards in these woods. These include:
+Haunted Groves that try to lure Drifters in to ensnare them for plant food. These trees can even reverse a transformation on Drifters, but will try to also lull Drifters into a sense of security so they can be ensnared on noose like vines, or get absorbed into the tree trunks.
+Wrecked Cars that hide assorted traps in the form of snares and fear toxin. There are also strange robot dogs called chromehounds stalking the wreckage, and are programmed to attack anyone displaying monster traits.
+Pockets of Magic dotting the road. These stasis pockets try to freeze Drifters, but are dispelled by Sigils with explosive results; sudden bursts of elemental magic tend to burst out as the fields get destroyed. Some of the stasis pockets dot the roads, and need to be burst. Vehicles can also help shield Drifters from the after effects, or quickly get them out of harm’s way.
+Moon Shrines scattered around the forest, with offerings on their altars and prayers written on their surfaces. Many of them contain the Silver Tears records on monsters, from the info pages. More pragmatic Drifters can also take the offered items from the altars… But this causes the candles to ignite, and burn hands and arms, leaving behind either a monster change, or burning a passage of text across the skin that slowly fades out over the month. This will also be our first RNG event with the text. We will have a sign up form below where we'll be distributing some lore via rolls! (Please note we are limiting this to one bit of lore per character, to keep things manageable!)
The exploration of the forest culminates in a strange ruin, a cross between a radio tower and a cabin in the woods. Once there, the Convoy experiences its first Moon Warp. Reality grows fluid, monsters burst to life from Husks in the forests, and Drifters will find their monster forms being called out to.
During the moon warp, Drifters will have two options:
1. Hide in the Convoy behind the shields, and thus avoid the worst of the Moon Warp and transformations. Things might be scary on the outside, but it’s possible to get a measure of peace indoors… Though they’ll need to make company with everyone else hiding inside.
2. Face the Moon Warp and the monsters head on, and thus enjoy a full fledged monster transformation and potentially a berserk state. It’s a brawl outside the Convoy shields, with other Husk monsters, and even chromehounds honing in on the warp and trying to slay all monsters. It’s chaotic, violent, and Drifters will need to burn a lot of energy to survive. By the end of the Warp they’ll be able to return to normal… Or possibly stay in a weakened monstrous state until events in March.
And that is our route planned for the month! We hope you enjoy this event, and feel free to plan in the comments below!
Also, feel free to introduce yourself with this handy box, if you would like!

Viktor | Arcane
Player Name: Pine
Contact:
RP STUFF!
Character Name: Viktor
Canon: Arcane (League of Legends)
Character Info: An oddly caring mad scientist who is constantly Going Through It. He's actively dying of Plotpointitis and trying desperately to save himself. This has not gone well for him and all he's got is a magical-metal leg and hand to show for his hard work. Haunted by the guilt of getting his assistant killed. Working through that one, still. His (SCIENCE) partner Jayce is from a future canon point than he is, so they're also working through that one.
Monster Plans: BUG BUG BUG. I joined this game for bug and I got bug. Viktor is a Swarm (Selkhet)!
((Big S2 Arcane/LoL Spoilers in links!)) I'll be going with Herald of the Arcane Viktor and his very cool face as his monster form! He'll have the starting traits of;
Event Plans: MONSTER TIME. He will definitely be in the thick of the Moon Warp. Beyond that, looking to play into what other people are interested in!! I plan to be tagging out with him more than dropping down my own top level, but I might do both.
Extra: Following up with TDM CR as well as starting new CR!

Definitely down for more Akechi and Viktor shenanigans! I enjoyed their TDM thread, and Akechi definitely appreciates his intelligence and the help with his motorcycle.

That was a great thread for them! Very solid start to their CR. I figured we'd handwave that Viktor got that motorcycle running for him. Give him time to take something apart and he'll put it back together with improvements. His engineering skill is definitely going to be coming in handy for this game.

He's not someone who trusts especially easy, but Viktor seems significantly better than most of the adults he knows, which is a good start. xD I think him being season one Viktor also helps, as he'd definitely raise eyebrows at what he ends up doing in season two.

Viktor will definitely be a chill adult figure for Akechi. He's for sure interested in the magic Akechi has, but he's not about to pry anything he doesn't want to share out of the young man.

Waver here may be a mage but he's big into the application of the scientific method and will gladly take any and all research partners, even if they are a little buggy. He's going to end up a centaur at some point (because I am so predictable dang it), but that shouldn't be too much of a hindrance.

Viktor was doing science with magic, since that's what Hextech really boils down to. A mage will be of great interest to him for SURE. If Waver needs anything built or repaired mechanically, Viktor and Jayce are the guys for the job.
Glad the centaur dream remains alive and well.

Please help him, he can only get an engine started for long enough to get it to it's destination or a repair shop. He can drive and he can sail but he's pretty pathetic with physical stuff.

Viktor will hopefully get a lot of use out of his engineering prowess! Kind of the perfect game for him to be useful with his skillset, since he's definitely not a fight-boy unless he's monsterified....

I mentioned it to owlie as well but SecUnit is Very Mechanical and also probably going to be semi-vocal about how archaic it finds all of the Convoy's tech if Viktor would be interested in picking its brain about that! It spent a lot of the fight in the TDM running around with the guns in its arms being visible, anyway - and could probably do the same during the exploration, dealing with the chromehounds and the like.

Viktor would be SO interested in whatever SecUnit has going on. He'll definitely ask after the technology it has at the ready, very fascinating.

Viktor would love to have someone to complain with. Though she might be aghast that he's so bold about exploring dangerous situations. This man is dying and feels no sense of self preservation if he stands to gain knowledge.

Viktor has no clue what to think of Faith yet, beyond a vague sense she's got that Undercity-style rough and toughness. Puts him at ease, actually, that's his type of buddy.

Also he broke the driver's side window out and that should maybe get repaired...
