Ok so I saw that Danse would be looking for people to go hunting for meat with him. It just so happens that this guy (Serph) does that all the time. ...Because he's a cannibal and is eating the monsters. (Not that he advertises that part. But I do have an opt out in his journal if that's no good.) But he'd be willing to help! He even has ice powers so they could freeze the meat for transportation

Serph is also technically a soldier who recently learned he's an AI and the world he lived in was completely virtual (and uh, deleted), so I feel like maybe there's some common ground here. He was also turned into a monster before arriving, so he's well versed in dealing with sudden and abrupt transformations.
