There’s just a few areas left to cross before reaching Nirvana. But before that, the Convoy descends the mountains into a crystal forest.

Assorted strange effects lurk among the crystals. Including all sorts of colored rocks that can cause weird effects, such as:
Purple: Summons lightning from the sky or arcing from crystal to flesh. Can also instill feelings of agitation and restlessness.
Red: Ignites fire in the air, shoots wildfire along the ground, or in the worst case sets flesh ablaze. It can also cause aggression, fury, and reckless action.
Green: Calls wind in either gusts or razor blades of air. It can also force feelings of claustrophobia if shut inside cars or the Convoy, and a need for open spaces.
Blue: Causes flooding or spikes of ice and frostbite. Drifters may feel their emotions growing cold and reserved.
White: Heal injuries or reverse a single transformation. Also the rarest color.
Black: Results in in a transformation and furthering of monster traits.

Fae changes also are on highlight this month, to fit with the strange forest.

Depending on the time of day, crystals may also reflect things back on Drifters: at sundown the crystals reflect potential monster changes. At day they reflect things from a Drifter’s thoughts. And sometimes they reflect visions of the end of Revan.

There’s also mischievous wisps challenging vehicles to races among the forest, leading to rare white crystals as a reward.

And finally, all the commotion draws the attention of a strange, spidery materia guardian down on the Convoy, forcing a fight.

Character Name: Vincent Valentine
Canon: Final Fantasy VII (OG)
Character Info: Former Turk, gunman turned monsters in a box by Hojo's experimentations and a tragic story. Very lone wolf and brusque. But willing to stay with the Convoy because it's the best option. Also runs a 'gunshop' with hours that overlap late afternoon and early evening. He also has a guard cucco for a pet. Don't underestimate what a cucco kept by a former Turk might be able to accomplish.

Tiny Edit: Also tends to collect useful things and knows where shit is. Information gathering habits die hard. Just mostly in the habit of displaying the guns and the cucco. Maybe this is to keep people at bay who knows. It's guns. And a cucco. It would probably have the opposite effect of keeping people away.

Monster Plans: Vincent has plenty of monsters and looks like a vampire. Now? He's turning into one because it's funny to me and the mod let me get away with it. Last month his physical traits exploded pretty well. Which... isn't much of a change on his normal appearance, but now he's got fangs, claws, traces of blue veins in what little of his skin he shows, and his cloak is prone to shaping itself into bat wings. Look forward to this.

Event Plans: Vincent in a faerie wood. Look. It's going to be hilarious. He will probably race his stupid Munster Koach of a car because it's got Fast trait and healing crystals are win. But he's also being a bit subdued because of a bit of sin happened in the form of finally drinking Drifter blood. He'd been avoiding it in favor of monsters.

Extra: Will this be the month for neck horse? Mystery.

Character Name: Lucy Maclean
Canon: Fallout (TV show)
Character Info: Lucy is a Fallout vault dweller, meaning she grew up underground in a nice and cosy environment that was Definitely Not Some Sort of Cult. She is naive and trusting, kind and helpful. She is as sweet and down to earth American as apple pie. Unfortunately, she lives in the world of Fallout, so all of this is biting her in the ass now she has come to the surface and is learning that people really like shooting each other a lot. She is learning to adjust, but boy!! The world on the surface kind of sucks!

(for reference, for those familiar, she's coming to Revan from the start of season two. She's had enough experience in a wasteland to get slightly adjusted to post-apocalyptic hell holes, but not enough yet for her very black and white morals to have gotten worn down yet)

Monster Plans: Lucy is fresh off the summoning circle, so my monster plans for the month are yes, please. Lucy will be turning into a Pooka, so the fact that Fae changes are highlighted this months? Very good news for me. Maybe less good news for Lucy but oh well. I've got her starting traits noted down here. None of them are fully active yet, but lets get cracking on turning her into a bnnuy.

Event Plans: Because Lucy is so new, I don't necessarily have event plans just yet. I do want to get her involved in so much stuff though. I'd like her to meet all these new strange people she is sharing a convoy with (Lucy loves community building!!) and learn about the world of Revan and monsters and everything. Lucy is a yapper so if you stand still long enough she will talk to you. Even if you don't say anything back.

Some of you may already know me, but many of you may also not because I haven't really been RPing in the last... year and a half? Character Name: Vox. Just Vox.
Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Character Info: Demon Overlord of Media, CEO of his own enterprise in Hell and tv-headed piece of shit. Has a thing for sharks and loves movies. Is currently stuck here with his rival, and that whole thing is... Complicated. Vox is blunt, enjoys his fair share of song and dance as a critter from a musical canon, and is very handsy. He is capable of hypnosis, and I urge folk to please refer to my permissions post if that is something you want to mess around with.
Monster Plans: As a kitsune, Vox uses boatloads of illusion magic as well as lightning. So he can look the way he normally does, OR... as something a little different... overall, he's getting a better handle on how to fight and hunt in his fully shifted form. It's just that he's dealing with very fox-like mannerisms all the while, so forgive the occasional gekkering, shrieking and a whole lot of digging he's doing lately, too.
Event Plans: He plans to collect crystals and analyze them, see if they can be of use somehow. Otherwise, this is another opportunity to reflect some memories or thoughts without the whole fusion thing, if we wanted to get into each other's heads a little bit. Vox is also an avid little monster hunter working on a charge blade (or something akin to one), and he's looking to test it soon...

Well there's a guy in a very obvious doctor's coat hanging around the medbay on the convoy a lot of the time, so if she's looking for medical texts she's likely to run into him there sooner than later.

Character Info: A Stealth Operative for the Railroad, an underground organization with the focus of liberating Synthetic Humans from slavery and making the Commonwealth (A post-nuclear ~Boston area) a better place. Is no stranger to changing identities, down to extreme measures such as surgical face changes. Has a costume for everything and is a chronic liar. He can't help himself, almost as much as he can't help humorous little quips to keep the mood light.

He's returning to Revan this month with his faithful Wienermobile, which he resents for being the most conspicuous vehicle of all time. He'll be a little less withdrawn than his first arrival, but still will have a lot of explaining to do since he can't seem to introduce himself by his actual name to anyone.

Monster Plans: Deacon is a fae with a focus on powers that allow him to change shape or hide away with invisibility, etc. His most monstrous transformation is hidden behind sunglasses that he never really took off to begin with, but since it is fae month, I am considering temporarily giving him some other weird fairy-like transformations for ✨️flavor. Maybe wings or weird ears or something. I'll play with it.

Event Plans: Outside of transformations, I am open to working with others to have the crystals reveal information to their characters to further CR with Deacon. Since he's so closed off, this is a really good excuse to get a glimpse inside of his head and show him that he can trust the person seeing it.

Extra: If anyone needs a fun uncle-type in their CR chart, Deacon's your guy; He's equal parts silly lil guy and encouraging mentor, but since he uses guile and espionage as his tactics, people often misjudge his good intentions for dubious ones. CR that doesn't mind the occasional lecture and prank please apply below.

The last time he'd been in Revan, he was trapped inside the haunted carnival, so he won't remember anything since then. He had gotten extremely close with his colleague from home and narrative foil, Danse, so they'll have frequently been seen together. Deacon has also taken the form of a woman he had once been some ~20 years ago maybe, but not for anyone but Danse. If anyone does have interest in meeting Deacon as 'Jane Doe', this is also an option!

Character Name: The Ghoul (Cooper Howard)
Canon: Fallout (TV)
Character Info: Cooper Howard is a self-insert OC, husband, father, pretend cowboy and terrible spy who is integral to the events of Fallout. After the bombs drop he roams the wasteland looking for his family. Cooper is a "ghoul" which means he's macro-dosed a lot of radiation. He is reputably known as The Ghoul because he's old, he's travelled all over and he's really fucking mean. He stays playing his cowboy character as a coping mechanism.
Monster Plans:
He is a Wraith.
-BANGS HANDS ON DESK. Mist form.
-He already eats people but it's more out of necessity so I think CRAVING it will be kind of an interesting thing.
-Grave touch sounds extremely fun for him because he already absorbs people's life force by being mean.
-Without going into spoilers for s2, I think having him glow will be extremely appropriate purely because of all the radiation.
Event Plans: Without event prompts he's already tense, tetchy and irritable so I'm happy for him to feed into that with someone. I think the claustrophobic tendencies will also be interesting.

Character Info: A slightly brainwashed soldier from the post-apocalyptic ruins of Boston, who is taking the whole "turning into a werewolf" thing here better than he took the "finding out he was actually an android" thing back home--which is where he thinks he's been since October, after having been with the convoy since March prior to that.

Very dutiful, very committed to protecting everyone and everything around him, and on a continuing journey toward learning how to lighten up. He will be your dad if you let him.

Monster Plans: Danse has himself a whole pack now that he's starting to realize he can telepathically communicate with, and I plan to make him approximately 50% wolfier by buying him a fully-wolf form as soon as he racks up the AC points. So yeah, just Wolves Being Wolves a whole lot.

Event Plans: Nothing too concrete yet, except that I love the idea of inflicting some mischievous fae powers on him, because he is basically the anti-fae at all other times (unlike his narrative foil Deacon, in whose wienermobile he now lives.)

I don't know what all I'll want to do with the crystals yet, but I am extremely down to have him witness some reflected thoughts if anyone wants! Memshare it up, show him something repressed or embarrassing, whatever you want to do.

Extra: I'm just glad to be back!! I missed this game and the events have always been bangers. I'd really like to have Danse reach out more, make some new CR, and catch up with his buddies from the Before Times. He will be having a minor existential robot crisis at some point this month and looking to lean on people for that.

Canon: Digital Devil Saga
Character Info: Serph is a ~~dating sim~~ combat AI made by a 7 year old girl turned into a people-eating demon. Then he arrived in Revan and also became a biblical angel who is sometimes a fox and rarely a tentacle monster but more frequently ends up being (almost) every event monster under the sun.

Monster Plans: Serph's basically got all his monster changes bar one. It's ultra easy to spot him because he's the only guy around with six gigantic wings and glowing hair. Makes it kinda hard to sneak out at night, honestly.
Event Plans: Serph will become a fae! I haven't decided on specifics yet, but will be doodling ideas during the week probably.
Extra: OK I ACTUALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO PUT HERE FOR ONCE.

So like, we're arriving in Nirvana soon. And some people have expressed worry about Nirvana being a trap. Which, given Serph's past experiences with "Nirvana" from his world, yeah he doesn't trust this being the end and everyone's happy.

And given that he and a few others he's spoken to would like to stay in Revan but with their friends and living a somewhat peaceful life (and maybe travelling), he's making plans on what to do if they need to break out of Nirvana.

And one part of the plan would be to see if there's a way to steal the Convoy and get it going on a route of their own choosing. And also figure out how they're being tracked by every party interested in them and remove it. So if that's a thing your character would be interested in...!

Character Name: Godzilla
Canon: Godzilla: the Series
Character Info: Remember that god awful Godzilla movie in 1998 that Emmerich and Devlin shat out? It spawned a sequel cartoon that's actually really good. This big lizard, known in the fandom as Zilla jr., is that big lizard's son. He gets adopted by Matthew Broderick's character, is a very good boy and remembered to live up to the legacy by having a breath weapon and being awesome. Despite being incapable of speech, he's expressive, smart, compassionate and works very well with people thanks to his adoptive family of geeks. He can understand spoken languages, for the most part! Mostly English, maybe a bit of Spanish and French. Yes, you can pet him.
Monster Plans: He's a thri-kreen! I haven't decided on the particulars yet, but since I mentioned making Mothra references in his monster form in my app, I kinda dig the idea and might throw that together somehow. The hivemind stuff plays well with him being a very communal lizard, also.
Event Plans: Funny how so many crystals wanna cause some kind of agitation when a shrunken kaiju joins the Drifters. Could play with that, perhaps! Definitely gonna take advantage of the memory sharing bits so he can share things he'd otherwise struggle to communicate.
Extra: Godzilla is an extremely good boy. If you're in need of an emotional support kaiju, he's got you covered. He can listen and cuddle and let you pet him if you need it! He may not understand everything, but he understands enough to try.

Canon: Fallout: New Vegas
Character Info: A very tired doctor from wacky nuclear wasteland Las Vegas. Despite this, he is actually Very Boring^TM. Just take his word for it. God put all of his stat points into intelligence and charisma and as payback he refuses to use the latter for anything other than occasionally being so obnoxiously sarcastic it might get him killed. He's dedicated his life to humanitarian outreach even though the world is a hellish ruin because he's just that upsettingly decent. Exactly as much of a nerd as the labcoat and glasses make him look. Secretly raised by fugitive war criminals, but that's probably not important.

Monster Plans: long list of monster details bc he's been here a while + opt-in for some of those monster details if you're nasty. These days he pretty much permanently has the extra set of scaly arms and patches of scales on his skin, so those are safe to assume in any given thread. Event monster stuff: uhhhh well he already has some Fae traits, plant magic & plant speech. It'd be funny if he got caught having a conversation with the small garden he's got going out of his truck - but by someone who can also temporarily(?) hear the plants.

Event Plans: He's not interested in racing (but I'm not opposed to him getting dragged into someone else's) and will probably skip the big monster fighting for this one. Looking for some downtime maybe this month with recovering from the insane cold of the mountain (hopefully) and the crystal effects sound fun! Always down for a man who does not want to be known having his thoughts projected all over the place, good times.
